No Philadelphia Eagles fans. We’re not going to blame Week 1 on Wentz (totally).

Whenever you look at NFL quarterbacks and talk about how much money they make, you have to consider several factors, especially if you’re a Philadelphia Eagles fan. There’s only one player on a football field that has a win-loss total attached to his name.

Middle linebackers don’t. Kickers don’t. Quarterbacks and head coaches have win-loss records attached to their names, and those records follow them forever.

Well, Carson Wentz and his Eagles teammates are 0-1 after one game, and it was a game that they should have won easily. Everyone’s angry (you know this fan base), but while quarterbacks are often given too much credit for a team’s success and too much of the blame when that team loses, making QB1 the lightning rod for an opening-day loss might be a little unfair.

Is Wentz innocent in this? Heck no! He isn’t the lone reason for an unexplainable loss either. Ladies and gentlemen, meet his co-defendants. Here are three reasons Carson Wentz can’t be blamed (totally) for an 0-1 start to the 2020 season.
