Philadelphia Eagles debate table: Miles Sanders shouldn’t be overworked
1. It would be wise for the Philadelphia Eagles not to overwork Sanders.
Hopefully, by now, things should have sunk in. Despite Duce Staley’s claim that Sanders is ready to tackle a full workload in the Eagles offense, no one should confuse desperation with necessity.

This team needs answers on offense, but pretending like this team needs to hammer Miles Sanders up the middle of the defensive formation 20 times a game may not be the best course of action.
We’ve seen him limp off of the field in the season finale versus the New York Giants in 2019. We’ve seen him deal with this hamstring issue. Let’s be frank. Sanders is talented, but he’s also five-foot-eleven and 212 pounds. He’s basically about an inch shorter than Michael Vick and about ten pounds heavier.
If Philly lets him get smacked by defensive linemen and linebackers 25 times a game every week, he’s not going to have a long career. Linebackers are six-foot-three, 245 to 255 pounds now, and they run the 40-yard dash in 4.5 seconds. Sanders plays the most punishing position in all of football. You do the math.
