Philadelphia Eagles: 5 quarterbacks Carson Wentz is still better than
What if the Philadelphia Eagles had this guy?
Let this one sink in for a few ticks of the clock. Carson Wentz isn’t one of the 100 best players in the league, but in a poll that was voted on by his peers, Ryan Tannehill cracked the list at number 68. It makes no sense at all, does it?
Even if you could convince yourself that this doesn’t seem like that bad of an error, it takes on a whole new feel if you say it out loud or you start thinking about it in other terms. Think about it this way. If that was accurate, that would mean only 67 players in the league are better than Ryan Tannehill. Do you get the joke now? Do any of you believe that, out of 32 teams that have 53 men on their active roster, only 67 players, regardless of the position they play, are better than Ryan Tannehill? Do you believe that statement to be accurate?
You could actually make the argument that his coaches and teammates don’t trust him. Defensive coordinators aren’t losing any sleep over this guy. He’s rarely been asked to put the ball in the air in pressure situations. He simply needs to exist in that split second between the center to quarterback exchange and the moment that he hands the ball to Derrick Henry.
We don’t need to waste a ton of time here. Ryan Tannehill isn’t one of the top 100 players in the NFL nor is he better than Carson Wentz.
