1. The Bengals defense will allow the Philadelphia Eagles offense opportunities.

In Week 2, the Cincinnati Bengals defense allowed Baker Mayfield and the Cleveland Browns offense to put up 35 points last week, and there is no reason to believe that what we all saw from Cincy’s performance on defense is an outlier. The Bengals’ defense ranks 22nd overall in defense, which is only seven spots better than their 2019 ranking of 29th in the league.

Through two weeks, quarterbacks are averaging 8.1 yards per attempt, while running backs are averaging five yards per rush against the Bengals. Both stats rank 24th and 27th in the league this season, respectively. To make a long story short, this Bengals defense can be exploited, and Wentz needs to do exactly that.

The Eagles invested a lot of money in Wentz last year, and it will be very concerning if he struggles against a bottom-tier defense like this one. If Mayfield can take advantage of this team, Wentz better be able to prove that he’s capable of topping that performance. The importance of an Eagles victory only increases when Wentz, the Eagles, or any fan looks at the schedule beyond Week 3.
