With rookie Jalen Reagor out for multiple weeks with a UCL tear, someone has to become quarterback Carson Wentz’s main target at wide receiver. The obvious choice is DeSean Jackson. Greg Ward is serviceable but he isn’t the deep threat ‘D-Jax’ is. J.J. Arcega-Whiteside hasn’t shown the Eagles that they can trust him and may see the bench after failing to distinguish himself the first two weeks of the season. Also, rookie John Hightower hasn’t shown that he’s ready for the bright lights.

Jackson must step up. This season, he has hauled in eight catches for 110 yards. Last year, he showed he can still be a lethal deep threat. The ‘City of Brotherly Love’ would love to see that kind of production from ’10’ once again.

This isn’t Deja Vu, Wentz claims the top spot of this list again. Last season, ’11’ put the Philadelphia Eagles on his shoulders down the stretch and led them to a playoff appearance despite not having an adequate wide receiver corps. This year, he’s regressed.

Eagles head coach Doug Pederson isn’t maximizing Wentz’s strengths, but ’11’ deserves some of the blame too. His decision making hasn’t been the best in 2020 and he has already thrown four interceptions. He’s also fumbled the football twice this season. Wentz must leave whatever happened in the last two games behind and become that elite quarterback he’s shown he can be.
