3 Reasons Philadelphia Eagles will regret not hiring Jim Caldwell
Here are a few final thoughts for Philadelphia Eagles fans.
Just in case you’re still not convinced, Caldwell’s tenure in Detroit as their head coach wasn’t as exhilarating as his run in Indy, but he did post a record above .500. Hey, it’s a 36-28 record in Motown, and his quarterback, Matthew Stafford, made the Pro Bowl in 2014. That has to count for something.
Let’s state a few things one more time if you’ve missed any of them. Peyton owes a lot of his success to Jim Caldwell. He didn’t win a lot in the postseason before Caldwell got to Indy. Joe Flacco earned a huge contract he never lived up to for one reason. Caldwell was his OC. Matt Stafford had his best year with Caldwell standing on the sideline. What is everyone missing here?
We may see Jim Caldwell back on the sidelines in the NFL one day. Hopefully, that will be sooner rather than later, but as of right now, a stubborn Eagles head coach continues to call the offensive plays even though he sucks at it. Philly still doesn’t have an OC, and no one knows what Rich Scangarello and Marty Mornhinweg do on gamedays. Things are going to get worse in Philadelphia before they get better, and they have themselves to blame for that.
