Okay Philadelphia Eagles fans, let’s share a few memories first.

McDermott’s coaching career began in 1998 at William and Mary as a graduate assistant before he joined Andy Reid’s staff as an ‘assistant to the head coach’ in 2001. He was their defensive assistant and quality control coach from 2002 until 2003 before serving as the team’s assistant defensive backs coach (2004–2006), their secondary coach (2007), their linebackers coach (2008), and their defensive coordinator (2009-2010).

McDermott took over as D.C. for the late and great Jim Johnson but was fired on January 15th of 2011. He landed on his feet in Charlotte with the Carolina Panthers as their defensive coordinator.

There, he was reunited with Kurt Coleman and got the most out of him while helping to lead the Panthers to a Super Bowl appearance at the end of the 2015-2016 season. All of that helped lead him to his current gig as the Bills head coach, a role that he has served in since 2017. Buffalo is 30-27 under his watch, including those two playoff losses.

Now, that most of you are caught up, let’s answer the question. What happens if Sean McDermott never leaves the Eagles’ nest?
