5 Philadelphia Eagles whose stock you may need to sell immediately
How did some of you Philadelphia Eagles fans not know that this a bad idea?
Speaking of offensive linemen that aren’t worth their paycheck, here’s the Jason Peters portion of the countdown. Rumors of old Eagles who are past their prime returning have become an annual tradition in this fanbase, and even though ‘The Bodyguard’ sat idle for months and found no suitors, for a while, you couldn’t spend five minutes on Twitter without someone screaming that bringing him back to the ‘City of Brotherly Love’ for one more year was a ‘no brainer’.
Well, Philly did indeed bring him back, and so far, his attempts to hold Philly to ransom for a pay raise that he didn’t deserve has been bigger news than anything involving any positive takeaways that we can make for his play on the field.
J.P. isn’t ‘The Bodyguard’ anymore. Now, he’s just a band-aid that Philly has placed on an eyesore. There’s no hydrogen peroxide or any alcohol. There’s just an open wound here. As if watching him flounder through 2019 wasn’t bad enough, fans and the media asked for more.
At the time of this story being published, Jason Peters is in the midst of a 21-day practice window. He could be added to the active roster soon, but if he is, what’s his purpose? No one wants him back at left tackle. An Eagles legend believes that Peters playing the left guard position is an option, but until he returns, all of this is conjecture.
Here are the facts though. The ‘Birds’ have nothing to be excited about when it comes to their offensive line right now, Peters is one of their better options, but the question is how much does he have left? No one seems to have any real faith in any answer that they can come up with.
