1. The Philadelphia Eagles adds Alshon Jeffery to the active roster.

At the beginning of the season, it was understandable why this team didn’t initially place Alshon Jeffery on the PUP (physically unable to perform) list or on the injured reserve. Once a Super Bowl hero, ’17’ has made strides in his rehabilitation and was expected to return as early as Week 4, but not only is he past his original return window. He’s also sustained another injury that will keep him out until after Philly’s Week 9 bye.

Perhaps Jeffery wasn’t given any of the mentioned designations was because the Eagles were looking to find a trade partner. That hasn’t ever come to pass and honestly it probably never will. Still, he’s occupying a roster spot that could have gone to someone more deserving like Casey Toohill, who could have contributed but now plays for the Washington Football Team.

2. Nate Gerry got way too many snaps at linebacker.

The confidence that this coaching staff has given to Nathan Gerry is baffling. The ‘White Snake’ has been victimized on game-changing plays seemingly every week. His inability to cover anyone or line up correctly has been frustrating to watch, but no one will ever forget watching him being left in the dust over and over again.

This team needs to explore other options, and it shouldn’t have taken Gerry being placed on the injured reserve for them to do so.
