3 Recent Philadelphia Eagles decisions that have proven be awful
3. Wait! The Philadelphia Eagles are placing Will Parks on the trade block?
As reported by Sports Illustrated’s Albert Breer, the Eagles are expected to making Will Parks available ahead of the trade deadline. The Philly native brought in to be a hybrid defensive back has only played two games since returning from injury. Though Parks hasn’t proven to be a long-term answer, he has a high ceiling and has some playmaking ability.
Some Eagles fans are concerned. Some don’t care, but this doesn’t help the depth issue as Jalen Mills leaves a lot to be desired.
Mills, as you know, was supposed to replace Malcolm Jenkins, but the experiment isn’t working. Mills also represents a four-million-dollar cap hit on the Eagles this year, whereas Parks represents just over a million in cap space. So the Eagles shopping the less expensive player truly raises the eyebrows of Philly fans. Does anyone have Advil?
Of course, these are just some of the questionable moves the Eagles have made this year, but it is clear that this organization seems to be trending in the wrong direction when it comes to decision making. The Eagles have been open before about change needing to happen, but those changes need to happen at the top before they occur anywhere else. The Eagles are getting healthy. They have a chance to be still competitive this year, but no matter the season’s outcome, a realistic look in the mirror needs to happen for this team’s leaders.
