Two Philadelphia Eagles defensive standouts deserve some mention.

The Eagles’ linebacking corps has been a source of misery, but in Week 8, T.J. Edwards had the game of his career. He’s one of the main reasons the ‘Birds’ came out of this one with the win.

T.J. racked up 13 total tackles, two tackles for a loss, one quarterback hit, and a sack that forced a fumble out of Cowboys quarterback Ben DiNucci. That fumble wound up in the hands of Rodney McLeod who went ‘scoop and score’. Pass coverage may not be Edwards’s strength, but he has shown a nose for the ball. He might be Philly’s best run defender.

Rodney McLeod’s fumble recovery and return increased Philly’s lead on the scoreboard and all but guaranteed an Eagles win. The call was debatable. The NFL eventually stated that the right call had been made, but you have to credit McLeod for playing to the whistle.

This nine-year veteran is still making plays and furthering his status as one of the Eagles’ prominent and vocal locker room leaders.
