The Philadelphia Eagles defense will be apart of the 2021 roster moves.

Here’s what you might refer to as stating the obvious. With a smaller salary cap number to juggle thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic and a massive payroll that exceeds said number, the Philadelphia Eagles will have to make some tough personnel decisions on both offense and defense.

Some of the team casualties on offense are easy to find. Just look for the old guys that can’t stay healthy and make northwards of $10 million. On defense, there are some of the same issues. The Eagles are in between a rock and a hard place, and it’s going to get a little testier before it gets better.

If you’re just joining our regularly scheduled program, the Birds are projected to be $60 million over the cap next in 2021. Aging players aren’t the primary concern on the defensive side of the ball, but there are some hefty contracts and some possible extensions (or dismissals) to think about.

The Philadelphia Eagles have one of the most expensive rosters in the league from a defensive standpoint, especially along their defensive line. Might we see another influx of youth or a few Eagles legends move on? It’s possible. Here are a few way-too-early predictions for 2021’s offseason.
