. . Defensive end. . player. 54.

Could the Philadelphia Eagles part ways with a five-time Pro Bowler?

Projections at the defensive end position: Teams were interested in both Josh Sweat and Derek Barnett before the trade deadline, but there were no offers that were interesting enough to pry either guy away from this Eagles team. Philly’s fans have had their concerns about Barnett’s health and production throughout his career, but this season, he’s off to a good start. The question is was it a mistake to pick him in the first round of 2017’s NFL Draft.

Both Sweat and Barnett have had solid performances so far this season, with five and a half sacks between them. With Brandon Graham playing out of his mind this season and Vinny Curry still playing well, don’t expect Philly to make too many moves at the defensive end position.

Prediction: The Eagles sign Derek Barnett and Brandon Graham to a new contract extension.
