Cordarrelle Patterson, KR/WR/RB. . player. 35. . .

Cordarrelle Patterson gives the Philadelphia Eagles some versatility.

Dave Fipp’s special teams unit hasn’t been overwhelming in 2020, but everybody knows how good Coach Fipp and his unit can be if they have some talent. Think back to the days of Darren Sproles and Chris Maragos. Once upon a time, Fipp turned Philly’s special teams unit into a weapon.

NFL fans have talked about the three phases of football since football has been around (offense, defense, and special teams). The offense and defense get mentioned often. Fans tend to forget about the special teams unit from time to time unless of course, a field goal kicker is struggling or a punt returner fumbles on a change of possession.

Kalif Raymond might raise a few eyebrows, but he’s small in stature. He’s five-foot-nine, and he tips the scales at 183 pounds. Philly has enough of those guys.

Cordarrelle Patterson is another animal. He’s kind of become a mercenary, but he’s six-foot-two and 220 pounds. It may seem like he’s been around for 15 years, but he’s only 29 years old. He won’t turn 30 until next March. His presence gives Philly some versatility in the passing game, in the backfield, and the return game. That’s the type of versatility that this team likes and has been without for quite some time.
