1. player. 48. . . . Chris Godwin,

The Philadelphia Eagles could swipe a wideout from a team with a ton of them.

At the time of this story being published, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have an unlimited supply of weapons at the wide receiver position. Look at it this way. There’s an argument that can be made stating that Chris Godwin might be the third-best wide receiver on their roster.

Even if you rank him as second, behind Mike Evans and ahead of Antonio Brown, there are other weapons in the passing game to give Tom Brady unlimited options. NFL fans need only reference Cameron Brate, Rob Gronkowski, or Ronald Jones II if they need another example.

Believe it or not, Godwin might be expendable. Believe it or not, Tampa’s third-best wide receiver would automatically be Philly’s best just by walking in the building.

Heading into 2021’s offseason, unless something drastic happens and the Bucs don’t elect to extend Godwin, there’s a possibility that he’ll be the highest-graded free agent at the wide receiver position. He’ll cost a pretty penny, but once Philly clears some cap space, they might be able to make a run at him. They’ve done more with less before.
