2. How does the Philadelphia Eagles’ defense compare to Green Bays’ offense?

The Packers, under head coach Matt LaFleur, run a zone-run scheme with a heavy emphasis on play-action passes, which the Eagles defense has been beaten by a couple of times this year. In all three of the Packers’ losses, their opponent brought the house down on Aaron Rodgers.

Green Bay has an incredibly talented offensive line protecting the veteran quarterback, so finding success in one-on-one matchups is hard to come by. What does this all mean? It’s simple. The Birds need to blitz their tails off.

Getting Rodgers off his mark and off-target will be the fastest way of getting Green Bay off of the field. Rodgers can pick apart the secondary of any team (even against good coverage), so even though Schwartz doesn’t like to blitz, Birds fans might see it done more often in this game. The Iggles linebacking corps must also stack the line of scrimmage to ensure the Packers’ offensive line can’t create massive holes for Aaron Jones to run through.

As long as the Eagles defensive front, which is still a top-three unit in sacks, keeps bringing the pressure, and as long as the secondary unit can maintain their assignments, the Eagles should be able to keep the score manageable.
