1. The Philadelphia Eagles may not find an interested party or the value they seek.

Trade proposals are typically blown up when one side or another begins to believe that they aren’t getting the value that they want. Here’s something that some of you haven’t thought about. Just about everyone seems to be sending 11 to Indianapolis to join the Colts and be reunited with Frank Reich. There’s just one problem. How do any of us know that’s what the Colts want?

Throw on your imaginary owner’s cap or general manager blazers. Would you trade a first or second-round draft choice to acquire Wentz right now? Would you absorb that $30 million-plus per year deal? Keep in the mind the fact that the 2021 salary cap is almost certain to shrink because of every team’s inability to put fans in the stands (among other things).

Sure, we can pitch all of these ideas for logical explanations as to why 11 needs to go and where he might land if he does leave, but mull this over for a few ticks. How do you know that competing franchises believe that Carson Wentz is the missing piece for a Super Bowl or even a deep playoff run when no one has ever seen him win a playoff game?

The Colts are a borderline playoff team without Wentz. Doug Pederson has a winning record with Wentz and a losing record without him if you throw out 2017. 11’s market may not be as thick as you think it is.
