3. The Philadelphia Eagles need to add impactful coaches.

Finding talent won’t mean much if the Eagles don’t find guys to coach this team. Philly needs to find coaches who will develop and positively impact this team. What do we mean by impactful? Just look at what Eagles running backs and assistant head coach Duce Staley and offensive line coach Jeff Stoutland have both done with their position groups.

Now that you have that picture in your mind, start looking at the rest of the roster and think about what this team is missing. The Iggles don’t just need to find a defensive coordinator with a modern mindset. They need to find a true offensive coordinator and get rid of what feels like ten offensive ‘advisors.’

This also means head coach Doug Pederson needs to finally give up playcalling and hand the reigns to someone else. With a new offensive coordinator, this offense might finally have something it’s been missing since 2017, an identity. What type of offense do the Eagles currently deploy? Is it an air raid? Is it a west-coast offense? It certainly isn’t the power-run! The point is no one knows, not even the Eagles’ coaching staff, and that is a major problem.

Just like they need to stay away from retread players, Philadelphia must stay away from retread coaches. What did Marty Mornhinweg do this year? This offense was supposed to be innovative, and this defense was supposed to be intimidating. Both sides of the ball fell well short of those goals, and that blame rests purely on the coaches in this franchise.

Trending. Pederson owes this team an apology. light

Doing these three things listed won’t be easy, but all of this is achievable. These quick fixes might not end up curing all of the Eagles’ needs this offseason, but it’s a good start to correcting this franchise and putting the Birds back on course. It’s up to the leadership of this team to figure this out and get this done.
