4. The Philadelphia Eagles trade Carson Wentz to the New York Jets.

Call it crazy. Call it stupid, but here’s what you can’t deny. It doesn’t get any zanier than sending Carson Wentz to the New York Jets. Then again, you can make all of this make sense if you truly wanted to.

Adam Gase is gone. Joe Douglas, a man with ties to the Eagles organization, knows Carson fairly well. New York’s new coaching regime (whoever that might consist of) may not go the route of sticking with Sam Darnold. Maybe they want someone a little older if they aren’t sure about Justin Fields either.

In Philly’s case, the team gets something else. They get more than they expected in return for a former MVP candidate, Number 11, and they get a chance to get their former QB1 out of the NFC entirely. Now, with 11 in the AFC, you see Wentz once every four years, or dare we say it? Philadelphia might run into Carson again if Hades freezes over and we all wind up seeing an all-green Super Bowl? It’s going to take a lot to get both of these franchises up to a championship level, but you get the idea.

Honestly, Philly’s probably not going to get back to football’s biggest game for quite some time. History says we probably have about a 20-year wait. History also suggests that the rest of the NFL can take advantage of a desperate Jets organization from time to time. New York has played its way out of the Trevor Lawrence sweepstakes, and they’ll need a signal-caller to get them back into serious contention.

It’s a tough media market, something Carson Wentz has proven that he doesn’t have the mental makeup to handle, but who knows? All he has to do is stick with the plan by refusing to accept personal responsibility and turning off the radio so he doesn’t hear criticism that he obviously can’t handle.

We’re throwing our eggs in a green basket folks. The Wentz Wagon, one that’s desperately in need of a tuneup, chugs its way into the Big Apple to attach itself to a new coaching staff that may be looking to distance itself from Sam Darnold and start fresh. You’ve heard it here first.
