. . Stefon Diggs, Bills Mafia. . player. 16.

Diggs was a long shot for the Philadelphia Eagles but still.

Remember that earlier comment about this wide receiver issue the Philadelphia Eagles have had and how long its been going on? It seems like it’s been three years since we tossed around the idea of Stefon Diggs in a Birds jersey after it became apparent that he no longer wanted to be with the Vikes. That was actually last season though.

One year later, Diggs has developed a nice chemistry with Josh Allen in his new home with the Buffalo Bills, and the change of scenery has helped him further prove that he’s one of the game’s elite receivers.

During the 2020 regular season, he was targeted 166 times and pulled in 127 receptions. That resulted in 1,535 receiving yards and eight touchdowns. When the bright lights of the NFL postseason turned on, he was equally impressive. His six receptions, 128 receiving yards, and touchdown helped the Billls Mafia to their first playoff win in a quarter of a century.

Minnesota’s still in a pretty good spot. They moved on from one star and got another. Philly, on the other hand, is still in search of that difference-maker at wide receiver.

Ignoring Diggs was understandable. Philly has too many holes, and Minnesota’s asking price for Diggs was too high, but wide receiver envy is tricky. It’s still hard not to look at 2020’s receptions and receiving yards leader and not wonder what could have been in the City of Brotherly Love.
