3. The Philadelphia Eagles won’t hire a new head coach for a while.

Even though it’s already one week after ‘Black Monday’, Jeffrey Lurie made it very clear that the Eagles are going to take their time finding a new head coach, and in a sense, he’s right. Philadelphia should consider all of its options and should avoid making a premature decision, but other franchises are already well into their head coaching searches. Since the Eagles took more time to evaluate Doug’s future, they are already behind the eight ball.

Not to mention the fact that Philly might be one of the least enticing destinations for a head coach. There’s a quarterback controversy and the general manager has played a major part in the team’s regression.

Speaking of the general manager, Roseman will be part of the search for a new head coach. This will be the team’s fourth head coach since Roseman became took over as general manager in 2010. While coaching has been an issue, it makes no sense why the Birds haven’t considered that Roseman might be part of those team’s problems.

Right now, this organization is as dysfunctional as it gets. They’re right up there with the Houston Texans. It’s going to take a while to fix everything, and the top candidates will likely pass on the Eagles for other offers.

Whoever lands in the City of Brotherly Love will have a real chance to make a name for themselves. If the new head coach can help fix Wentz or develop Hurts as well as utilize the talent on this roster to its full potential, they’ll likely stick around for a while. That’s much easier said than done though. This is just the start of what will be an extremely busy offseason.
