Who are the remaining candidates for the Philadelphia Eagles?

One of the top options still available is Brian Daboll. Since the Bills are still in the playoffs, the Eagles will have to wait to interview him in person. They are conducting a thorough search anyway so they should wait and give him a look. It would be interesting to see if Daboll employs some 10 personnel (four wideout sets) as he has in Buffalo. The thought of that is exciting with speed threats like Marquise Goodwin, Jalen Reagor, Quez Watkins, John Hightower, and possibly another wideout in the draft.

Carolina Panthers offensive coordinator Joe Brady is also still on the table. He’s a guy who has the feel of another Sean McVay. At just 31-years-old, Brady’s rapid rise through the ranks has been special.

After a few college gigs, Brady spent two years as an offensive assistant with the New Orleans Saints under Sean Payton. The following year, he stayed in the Louisiana area as the passing game coordinator and wide receivers coach for LSU. No one will forget that national championship run with Joe Burrow, Ja’Marr Chase, and Justin Jefferson.

There are reasonable concerns about his youth and inexperience but there’s no denying that he can scheme guys open. He also likes to mix it up. He used 12 different personnel groupings this year in Carolina ranging from two running back sets (20, 21, and 22 personnel) to two and three tight end sets (2, 3,12, 13, and 22 personnel) to four-wide receiver sets (1 and 10 personnel). He will play to the strengths of the team.

The bigger question might be whether or not he can be a leader in the locker room. It’s a bit of a risky hire but it could also pay off big time.
