There are good qualities to the Philadelphia Eagles’ new head coach.

Let’s begin with the positives, shall we?

Pro: Sirianni coaches his players hard.

The Birds’ new head coach holds his players accountable and doesn’t let up or allow his players to slack off. One of the largest issues this season was the fact that just about every player regressed, especially their franchise quarterback.

The Eagles desperately need a coach to hold his players and coaches to a high standard. The buzz around Sirianni is that he commands the respect of the locker room. More importantly, he knows how to maintain it.

Pro: From his travels, he can build a better staff.

One of the things that may have knocked Staley out of the running for the head coaching position was the concerns about his ability to create a solid staff around him. Let’s not forget Philly fans; the Birds still need to hire an offensive coordinator and a defensive coordinator.

The Iggles’ new head spent time in multiple systems from the Kansas City Chiefs and the Chargers in both San Diego and L.A. Sirianni is young, true, but he has built himself a solid network to choose a solid staff.

Pro: The Eagles’ new head coach still has room for growth.

Some fans may think this is a negative, but for a franchise that has openly stated they are in a rebuilding mode, a young coach can grow and rebuild with the team. Many older candidates may not be as patient or involved as a team is trying to rebuild a foundation.

During this time, Sirianni will have an opportunity to give the Eagles offense an identity. He will be able to look at the pieces that are in-house and the prospects that are in the next few drafts to start planning an offensive blueprint.
