Grant is a versatile D.B. that would boost the Philadelphia Eagles’ backend.

University of Central Florida defensive back Richie Grant is the definition of versatility in a football player. He’s literally capable of playing anywhere on the backend of a defense.

Grant would be a huge get for a struggling Philadelphia Eagles defense that’s lacking playmakers. All they need to do is plug-and-play, and Grant should pay dividends wherever they place him on a week-to-week basis.

Grant has been blessed with great speed, a quick-twitch while in coverage, and a tremendous IQ. It’s like having a football coach on the playing field. While watching him this week at the Reeses Senior Bowl practices, coaches and scouts said that he stood out daily, both in the running game and in the passing game. His play in the actual game was even more impressive as he was utilized all over the defense on just about every play.

As mentioned on several occasions, the Philadelphia Eagles need to add talent throughout this roster, and landing a player like Grant would be a great first step in the process. With his great combination of speed, athleticism, and football acumen, Grant would quickly become a weapon the Philadelphia Eagles could deploy in a multitude of ways.
