. . Jaycee Horn, South Carolina. 2. player. 850.

The Philadelphia Eagles could be staring at a goldmine with this guy.

Familiarize yourself with the name Jaycee Horn if you haven’t taken the time to do so. This six-foot-one, 205-pound monster didn’t experience a ton of success during his 30-game run with the South Carolina Gamecocks, but two things can be said about that definitively.

One, you can’t blame much of the Gamecocks’ failure on Horn, and second, keep an eye on his teammate, fellow corner Israel Mukuamu as well. While he isn’t getting the burn that Horn is, he’ll be a nice addition for some team somewhere towards the middle of Round 3 or sometime during Round 4.

In 2020, Horn looked good against Seth Williams out of Auburn, and he had a nice showing versus the Florida Gators. He opted out of Carolina’s final three games following Will Muschamp’s firing, but we have enough film to go on to say this might be the second-best cover guy in the nation. Place him on your draft board ahead of Virginia Tech’s Caleb Farley but slightly.

Once upon a time, a former South Carolina Gamecocks star, Alshon Jeffery, helped lead the Philadelphia Eagles to Super Bowl glory. If the Birds are willing to take a flier on another guy out of the Palmetto State, one Jaycee Horn, both he and Darius Slay will lock down quite a few opposing passing attacks for at least the next two seasons. It’s definitely something to think about if you’re Howie Roseman.
