. . . Patrick Surtain II, Alabama. 1. player. 829

This is the guy if the Philadelphia Eagles are thinking ‘elite corner’ at six.

If any Philly fan tells you that they don’t want an elite wide receiver at number six, the rest of us can probably say with confidence that those people are of that belief because of the nation’s best cover guy, Patrick Surtain II out of Alabama.

Go ahead. Ask them yourself. That’s probably the name that you’re going to hear.

His father was a three-time Pro Bowl nod from 2002 to 2004 and a First-team All-Pro in 2002. The apple certainly hasn’t fallen too far from the tree, but here’s the thing. The son’s career might actually exceed the accomplishments of the father.

Patrick Surtain II is six-foot-two and tips the scales at somewhere around 203 pounds. In 40 career games at the collegiate level, he notched 116 total tackles, 24 pass breakups, four forced fumbles, a fumble recovery, four interceptions, and a defensive touchdown.

There’s nothing he doesn’t do well. This is the best cornerback, not only in the SEC but in the entire 2021 draft class. He’ll be the first player taken at his position come April.
