Gerald Everett provides a nice target for whoever the Philadelphia Eagles’ QB is.

One of the loudest criticisms of Carson Wentz was he probably looked for Zach Ertz way too often, but that isn’t a bad idea when you have 86. Well, that was the case for most of Wentz and Ertz’s tenure together anyway.

Ertz was, without question, the third-best tight end behind Travis Kelce and George Kittle for most of the last four seasons and even on the first drive of 2020, but it appears that 86, who turns 31 on November 10th, has aged a lot since that wicked body shot that he took from Xavier Woods in a 17-9, Week 16 win versus the Dallas Cowboys.

Throw in a high ankle sprain that sent him to Philly’s IR (injured reserve) after Week 6 of the 2020 season, and it appears that Father Time and injuries might be catching up with him. Ertz would return to the lineup on December 2nd, but he never really got into a groove, unlike Gerald Everett who was more steady than overwhelming during the 2020 regular season.

The latter appeared in all 16 games for the Los Angeles Rams and made seven starts. The result was 41 receptions on 62 targets, resulting in 417 yards, 24 first downs, and a touchdown.
