Might Dan Arnold interest the Philadelphia Eagles?

If you threw Dan Arnold and Zach Ertz in jerseys that were the same color and gave them the same number, physically it might be a little hard to tell which guy was which. Here’s how you tell them apart though. Arnold is slightly slimmer in build, but both stand at about six-foot-five inches tall.

As far as skillsets go, Ertz is also more polished. Remember we just noted that, for most of the last few years, only Kittle and Kelce could lay claim to being better.

Some of you might be at the point where you’re ready to place Mark Andrews of the Baltimore Ravens, Jonnu Smith of the Tennessee Titans, and Darren Waller of the Las Vegas Raiders ahead of Ertz now. That’s fine. That’s a matter of preference. Dan Arnold is someone that can be groomed into a serviceable second or third option.

In 2020, Arnold caught 31 of 45 targets for 438 yards and four touchdowns. That includes two in a Week 13 loss versus the L.A. Rams. The ball may not have come his way much, but come on. The Arizona Cardinals had Larry Fitzgerald, DeAndre Hopkins, and Kenyan Drake running around out there.

Make no mistake about it though. He’d make for a nice target in the red zone and on third down. A season ago, 24 of those aforementioned 31 receptions moved the chains for the Cards.
