The CFP’s runner-up housed someone the Philadelphia Eagles might like.

In speaking to a few pro scouts, most of whom prefer to be left nameless, Shaun Wade probably grades out as a Day 2 prospect. It’s hard to get the pictures out of one’s mind of Shaun Wade being abused over and over again by Jahan Dotson of the Penn State Nittany Lions.

Then, to make matters worse, he had more than his fair share of up-and-down showings versus the Indiana Hoosiers, the Northwestern Wildcats, the Clemson Tigers, and most recently the Alabama Crimson Tide. That was the last time that we saw him on a national stage.

Wade has a lot of fundamental and technical issues to clean up if he’s going to be a dominant player at the next level. Some see him as a potential Day 2 guy. Others believe that he can slide and hear his name called early on Day 3.

The resume looks like this. He’s six-foot-one. He tips the scales at 194 pounds. From a numbers standpoint, in 32 career games, he racked up 91 total tackles, two sacks, six picks, three forced fumbles, and 18 pass breakups. That’s nothing to sneeze at when you consider the fact that Ohio State gets everyone’s best shot while playing in the ultra-competitive Big Ten Conference.
