827. . . . Trill Williams, Syracuse. 2. player

Syracuse has been kind to the Philadelphia Eagles before!

When any football fan takes a moment to think of the programs that have been a farm system for so many of the NFL’s franchises, you hear names like Oklahoma, Alabama, USC, and The U a lot, but people don’t often mention Syracuse. Maybe we should though.

While most of us think of The Orange and often drift into memories of Jim Boeheim and what the basketball team has done, this proud institution has also given us NFL greats. Names like Larry Csonka, Art Monk, Dwight Freeney, Marvin Harrison, and perhaps the greatest football player of all time, Jim Brown come to mind.

We’ve also gotten to know Floyd Little and someone Birds fans should be familiar with, Donovan McNabb. Trill Williams has made a name for himself after racking up 92 total tackles, including 64 of the solo variety, to go along with four interceptions, five pass breakups, three forced fumbles, and a defensive touchdown in 27 career games with The Orange.

He’s six-foot-two. He tips the scales at 196 pounds, and he represents a nice value pick on Day 3 of the draft. Expect him to go anywhere between Round 4 and Round 6.
