3 Cornerbacks Philadelphia Eagles should consider teaming with Darius Slay
Jackson could be the perfect free-agent fit for the Philadelphia Eagles.
It’s rare when a potential star cornerback is available in free agency. Even with his rollercoaster play (sadly, there have been more ups than downs), Cincinnati Bengals star William Jackson III has all the tools to be a star in the Philadelphia Eagles’ defense moving forward.
The six-foot, 196-pound University of Houston product has the football intelligence that defensive coordinators covet in the NFL. Blessed with quick feet and the closing speed to limit any catch, Jackson would be an immediate upgrade to the Eagles backend.
He’s also able to play both in zone coverage as well as man-to-man. Jackson has the ability to completely take away an opponent’s star. An aggressive playmaker, he has a swagger to his game that Philly fans will love.
The Birds are currently trimming cap space. This way they can be players in this year’s free agency period. If and when they get to that point, adding a potential star like William Jackson III could be a great acquisition, one that could be an immediate boost to the team’s defense.
