Philadelphia Eagles draft watch: All-ACC, seven-round NFL mock
No fan will complain if the Philadelphia Eagles add offensive line depth.
As bad as the Philadelphia Eagles need some depth along the offensive line, it can’t be stated enough. Combining any theory of taking the best player available with the normal draft theories of addressing team needs means the Birds are going to miss out on some very good players.
Philadelphia is also going to have to address certain areas much later than they would have liked. Come on. Let’s be honest. Don’t they have needs at every position? Some of this stuff comes down to a coin flip, well not literally, but you get the idea. It’s really that close sometimes.
How do you rank a center over a guard in Round 3 when a team needs both? Better yet, how does one rank a left tackle that’s serviceable over the safety that we think can help the franchise immediately? That’s the deciding factor oftentimes, and Philly’s brass is going to have to make some tough decisions.
Here’s the thing. Philly’s O-line was so bad in 2020 that there’s no way we won’t get out of this selection meeting without adding one of those big uglies to protect Jalen Hurts. The good news is the ACC has some trench warriors that should be available over the course of the three-day selection meeting.
For that reason, the third addition Philly makes in this mock is Robert Hainsey from the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. He’s a mountain, standing a six-foot-four and tipping the scales at 302 pounds.
