Philadelphia Eagles draft watch: All-ACC, seven-round NFL mock
The Philadelphia Eagles take a safety with their other third-round choice
Thanks to that trade that sent Carson Wentz to the Indianapolis Colts, Philly has another pick in Round 3. With it, Philly lands Paris Ford, a safety from the Pittsburgh Panthers, this assuming Ifeatu Melifonwu of the Syracuse Orange is already off of the board which would be a very safe assumption.
It just feels like this is too high of a spot to take safety Devine Deablo from Virginia Tech, Jared Goldwire, a defensive tackle out of the Louisville Cardinals program, and Zion Johnson, a very good guard from Boston College.
Drafting a safety in Round 3 makes sense as it’s a real possibility that Philly could move on from Jalen Mills or Rodney McLeod or both.
With that being said, if safety is the play here, Florida State sends a nice option by the name of Hamsah Nasirildeen. He should still be on the board, but he spent some of his time on the injured list, so for that reason, we place him slightly behind Ford who racked up 41 total tackles and three interceptions in seven games for Panthers this season.
