Philadelphia Eagles draft watch: All-ACC, seven-round NFL mock
The Philadelphia Eagles strengthen two more areas of need in Round 5.
It’s high time that the Philadelphia Eagles begin taking the linebacker position seriously. Adding Charles Snowden of the Virginia Cavaliers is definitely a step in the right direction.
He’s huge. Try six-foot-seven and 235 pounds on for size. That puts him in Cam Newton territory. He’s shown that he can produce in both the running and passing game though.
In 44 career games at the collegiate level, this young man racked up 191 total tackles, 15 sacks, 15 pass breakups, three forced fumbles, and two interceptions.
The Philadelphia Eagles add a tight end with that other fifth-round selection.
Tony Poljan is also a six-foot-seven and 265-pound monster who put in work for the Virginia Cavaliers. Both he and Snowden were teammates at the collegiate level, and they’d be a couple of nice acquisitions for the Birds in the City of Brotherly Love as well.
Philly’s probably not going to land someone like Miami’s Brevin Jordan or Hunter Long out of Boston College, so if Poljan slid a little and they were able to land him this late, this would be a monster win for the franchise.
