. . . Round 6: Victor Dimukeje, DE, Duke. . player. 825

The Philadelphia Eagles add another pass rusher and wide receiver.

If you haven’t seen much of Victor Dimukeje, don’t be too hard on yourself. Who watches Duke football anyway? If you have some time to watch a few highlight reels though, do yourself a favor, and make that happen.

In 48 career games at the collegiate level, he tallied 161 total tackles, 21.5 sacks, a pick, four forced fumbles, and three pass breakups. He makes sense as a Day-3 prospect.

The Philadelphia Eagles add a wideout as well.

If you hang out on Inside the Iggles enough, you’re well aware that we’ve been pushing this idea of a compensatory sixth-round pick for quite some time. Our staff lifted the idea from Over the Cap, as they predicted Philly might be granted a sixth-rounder as partial compensation for Jordan Howard.  Well, it was announced on March 10th that Philly would receive a pair of compensatory picks.

With that being said, the Birds land Dazz Newsome, a wide receiver out of North Carolina at 224. Then, at the 225th selection, they take a defensive end, Daelin Hayes, out of Notre Dame.

Both could wind up being very solid pros. There are probably about 20 wideouts that you can rank higher than Newsome, but in this round and at this juncture, he’s as safe a bet as any. If he isn’t available, the Birds may want to compensate by also adding Adetokunbo Ogundeji, Hayes’ teammate from the Irish. Hey, Philly needs to add pass rushers, and if one of those guys doesn’t work out, the other probably will.
