This young Philadelphia Eagles star will double his interception total from 2020.

It’s almost impossible to be a Philadelphia Eagles fan and not have some sort of affinity for the underdog story. Alex Singleton fits that bill perfectly. After going undrafted in 2015, he wound up on three rosters and didn’t play a single snap before being drafted in the first round of the CFL Draft in 2016.

He was the CFL’s Most Outstanding Defensive Player in 2017 as well as a CFL All-Star in 2017 and 2018. He was also a member of the Calgary Stampeders squad that won the Grey Cup in 2018.

He found his way to the Birds in 2019, and once he notched that pick-six in that Sunday Night Football game versus the San Francisco 49ers, his spot in the hearts of Eagles fans became a little more secure. Playing hard with each passing week only made him more of a fan favorite.

That pick in Week 4 was Singleton’s lone interception in 2020. In 2021, expect him to double his total. You read it here first.

He understands how to play the game, so much so that even when he’s beaten, it isn’t because he’s out of position. Guys on the other team get paid to make plays too. Think about that touchdown Jared Cook scored on him in that New Orleans Saints game in Week 14. Singleton was right there and almost made a play.

That’s alright though. He’ll learn from that, and going forward, you can expect for a lot more plays like that to go Philly’s way in the coming season. This Singleton guy is going to give Birds fans tons of reasons to smile in 2020.
