The Philadelphia Eagles add some punch with the versatile Felton.

As stated, our imaginary round-one trade gave the Philadelphia Eagles a fourth-round selection that they didn’t have coming into draft weekend, and with it, the Birds take Demetric Felton, a very versatile prospect out of the UCLA Bruins program. Expect the Philly media to ask him a few questions about what it was like to play for former Birds head coach Chip Kelly.

Those of you who are desirous of a big wide receiver won’t throw yourselves behind the Felton with blind loyalty. He’s five-foot-ten, but he is pretty wide and sturdy. This young man tips the scales at 200 pounds. In other words, he’s an inch shorter but right around the same size as Michael Vick

Now, the question is this. Where does any NFL team put Felton? He played running back at the collegiate level, but he might be a better prospect to play wide receiver at the pro level. The question then is should he be played outside or is he too short? Maybe he’s a slot receiver. Maybe he isn’t, but that’s why teams have coaches.

If Philly’s new coaching staff can’t find a way to use this guy, there may be other issues. In 31 career games at the collegiate level, he racked up 1,101 rushing yards on 233 carries, 958 receiving yards on 99 receptions, and 16 career touchdowns, one of which came by way of a kick return that went the distance.
