. . Anyone this team drafts. 1. player. 54.

Let’s just say the Philadelphia Eagles haven’t found Sanders’ backup yet.

People aren’t harping on the fact that the Philadelphia Eagles’ roster is full of holes for no reason. Every year, we talk about this team’s need for wide receivers, cornerbacks, linebackers, and another running back. It’s kind of becoming an annual tradition.

It’s 2021, and the Birds have done nothing to buck the trend. Philly doesn’t have anyone on this roster that’s worthy of being the second guy on the depth chart yet. That’s the bad news.

The good news is this. They should be able to add someone in one of the mid or later rounds of the draft as they’ll probably almost certainly address other needs that they have with their first few picks.

There are some game-changers in the 2021 NFL Draft class. You can mention the shifter guys like Kenny Gainwell, Larry Rountree III, or Michael Carter. There are some bruisers like Rhamondre Stevenson, Trey Sermon, or Kylin Hill. Again, the Birds will have options. Let’s just hope that they make a wise decision.

While Philly may not house their backup to Miles Sanders yet, they should be able to find one in the selection meeting. Most of the Philly faithful would love to see a bruiser, but at this point, just finding anyone that can give 26 some time to rest would be a welcomed addition to a broken and battered roster. We’ll have to wait and see what happens.
