2020: The Philadelphia Eagles draft Reagor, Hightower, and Watkins.

In 2020, Philadelphia selected Jalen Reagor in the first round of the NFL Draft out of TCU. The pick was a surprise to many as a lot of fans thought the Birds were going to choose the now-Minnesota Vikings wide receiver, Justin Jefferson. The selection of Reagor also surprised a lot of the media, as many didn’t think he’d be drafted in the first round of the NFL Draft.

Reagor missed a couple of games during his rookie season due to suffering a ligament tear in his thumb, but when he hit the field and got his opportunity, the rookie showed he had the skills to be a contributor.

31 receptions, 396 receiving yards, and one touchdown during the 2020 season were the results of year one. Let’s hope his encore is more entertaining.

John Hightower and Quez Watkins were both taken on the 2020 NFL Draft’s third day. Hightower was taken in the fifth round. Watkins was selected in Round 6. When all of Philadelphia’s wide receivers were dropping like flies due to injuries, the team depended on their young guns to pick up the slack.

Hightower stepped up during weeks 3-7 and hauled in eight receptions for 166 yards. Watkins answered the call during weeks 13-16 by snagging seven receptions for 106 yards and one touchdown. Let’s hope they continue on an upswing.
