Philadelphia Eagles draft: Top 20 interior linemen options
Here are the top five interior linemen if you’re a Philadelphia Eagles fan.
As we’ve stated earlier, there’s a chance that Northwestern’s Rashawn Slater and Alijah Vera-Tucker move inside at the next level. They both can play multiple positions along the offensive front, but if you throw them out of the discussion (or if they wind up playing tackle), these are the five best offensive line prospects.
5. Creed Humphrey, center, Oklahoma
Creed Humphrey isn’t quite polished yet, but have no fear if you’re a Birds fan. That’s why NFL teams employ position coaches. If this young man falls into the hands of the right one, watch out.
4. Wyatt Davis, guard, Ohio State
Wyatt Davis is a bulldozer in the ground game, but he’s been known to get his quarterback’s jersey dirty from time to time when having to defend the pass. That will have to get better as he transitions into professional football.
3. Landon Dickerson, center, Alabama
Injuries railroaded a good season for Landon Dickerson in 2020, and that’s all anyone has been able to talk about when his name has come up since. If he’s sturdy enough to play, he’ll be great as a professional.
2. Aaron Banks, guard, Notre Dame
Aaron Banks strung two very good years of college football together as both a run blocker and pass protector. It’s hard to imagine him never giving up a sack. It’s just hard to remember when it’s happened.
1. Trey Smith, guard, Tennessee
Even though he’s played some tackle at the collegiate level, everything about Trey Smith says he’s a guard. He’s blocked well in both the passing and running game while a member of the Tennessee Volunteers and should be a day-one starter at the professional level.
