Should the Philadelphia Eagles add another running back to their offense?

While new head coach Nick Sirianni has, for the most part, created me questions than he’s answered, the one thing that seems obvious is his love of the running game. Luckily for him, he takes over a Philadelphia Eagles roster that houses one of the National Football League’s, premier running backs.

Third-year tailback Miles Sanders has the tools to be the best in the league. Still, the front office needs to add depth behind him.

Moving forward, the Birds’ new leading man will need to find another runner or two. They’ll need to fill in for Sanders for a play or two and, God forbid, in a situation in which Sanders is ever injured. It may be seen as an ‘Old-school’ approach, but if the Eagles can run the ball consistently, they can control the clock and win ball games. That is where the 2021 NFL Draft comes into play.

Over the years, the running back position has seemingly seen less of a premium placed upon it, for whatever reason. That doesn’t mean the Eagles won’t be able to find talented backups though. Here is a shortlist of Day-3 NFL Draft prospects that could fill in perfectly moving forward.
