Philadelphia Eagles, Chiefs 2021 matchup will be better than expected
Philadelphia Eagles defense has to get to Mahomes
If the Eagles hope to have any chance in this game, the defense has to get pressure on Mahomes, and that’s easier said than done. Philly can do it though, as the defense collected the third-most sacks in 2020 with 49.
Fletcher Cox, Brandon Graham, Josh Sweat, and the rest of the Birds defense will be putting pressure on the newly reconstructed Kansas City offensive line to make sure Mahomes doesn’t get to perform his magic.
Mahomes won’t be the only quarterback feeling the pressure. Hurts will be too. Chris Jones and Frank Clark will make his day a long one.
The Eagles starting quarterback will have to watch out for Kansas City’s sneaky Honey Badger, safety Tyrann Mathieu, who seems to always be in right place at the right time. This game will feature a lot of points, but it could also could down to one big sack or an interception that will change the outcome of the game.
Right now on paper, the rebuilding Eagles don’t have a chance against the powerhouse offense of the Chiefs, but that’s when surprises happen in the NFL. It’s also a big story whenever Andy Reid comes back to town. The Eagles also have yet to beat their former head coach.
