Philadelphia Eagles roster: 3 Trades this front office should consider
D.K. Metcalf could be the Philadelphia Eagles fan’s biggest ‘what if’ in history.
Trade scenario: The Philadelphia Eagles send a 2022 first-round pick and former first-round selection Derek Barnett to the Seattle Seahawks for wide receiver D.K. Metcalf and a 2022 sixth-round pick.
In what could be the biggest miss in Philadelphia Eagles draft history, wide receiver D.K. Metcalf has been and continues to be a thorn in the side of Philly’s fans for too long, so why not make a move for him?
Here’s the scenario. Howie Roseman gets to fix his wrongdoing and bring the star wideout to the organization that he should have been playing for in the first place, and they get it done rather inexpensively. The offer of a first-round draft choice and pass rusher (Derek Barnett) should be an offer that Seahawks general manager John Schneider shouldn’t be able to walk away from.
This trade is a complete win-win scenario. The Eagles get another weapon to build around Jalen Hurts, and on the other side of the coin, the Seahawks get to add a first-round pick to help them build towards their future and a talent that could help them repair what’s arguably the weakest spot on their defense, the pass rush.
Just imagine Metcalf and DeVonta Smith lining up on opposite sides of the Eagles offense. It will give you goosebumps. Enough has been said. The ideas have been thrown out there. Someone with Howie’s cellular number should get him on the phone immediately.
