The Philadelphia Eagles aren’t ready to challenge the champs yet.

No matter how long you’ve been a Philadelphia Eagles fan or how loyal you’ve been over the years, if you grabbed the 2021 NFL schedule and marked their October 14th date with the World Champions as a win, though every Birds fan would probably appreciate your enthusiasm, we all would have to ask how you arrived at this conclusion.

During this past NFL Draft, all of the Eagles’ selections were made to address a need. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers, perhaps the league’s most complete and deep team, had the luxury of drafting for depth. These teams are on two different levels right now.

This one’s in primetime. That means Birds fans won’t just be watching alone. Buccaneers fans will also be watching. Heck, the entire nation will be watching, but unfortunately, as much as it would be one of the great moments in Philadelphia Eagles history and a signature win for Birds head coach Nick Sirianni if Philly could pull off the unthinkable, it’s not going to happen. Pencil this one in as a loss.

Final score: Buccaneers 34, Eagles 24 (2021-2022 Eagles record: 2-4)
