The Philadelphia Eagles trade back in 2018 and win football’s biggest game.

In the 2018 draft, the Eagles trade back in our alternate reality, just as they did in real life, landing at the 38th selection to take Harold Landry III out of Boston College. With their other second-round selection, they trade back into the third round and select running back Royce Freeman (Oregon). The rest of the draft plays out as normal. The Eagles retain Trey Burton, so there’s no need to draft a backup tight end.

The 2018 season is a massive success for the Eagles. They steamroll the regular season, going 14-2, earning the number-one seed in the NFC. They blow past the fifth-seeded Cowboys and third-seeded Rams and meet up once again with the Patriots, but this time, it’s an uneven battle.

The Eagles hoist the Super Bowl 53 trophy, and although it comes a year later in our alternate reality than it did in year life, it’s just as sweet. Deshaun Watson earns Super Bowl MVP honors.
