The Philadelphia Eagles have to, at some point, learn from their mistakes.

Everyone’s tried to defend JJAW. We have. Everyone joined in and waved the pom-poms when we heard he was another Alshon. We supported him when Howie Roseman told us that he’d bounce back in year two, but he didn’t.

JJ Arcega-Whiteside is officially a bust (though some of you made that proclamation after 2019). Philly’s taken a wide receiver in the first round of the NFL Draft during each of the past two selection meetings. JJ’s failures are a big reason for that.

Now, with guys like Greg Ward in the fold (who may not even make the team) and young guys like DeVonta Smith, Jalen Reagor, John Hightower, and Quez Watkins in the mix, it’s time to move on. With budding stars like Trevon Grimes and Travis Fulgham competing for roster spots, it appears that Philly has at least seven guys in the mix who are just better.

Philly used to move on from guys too early. Now, they consistently move on from guys a year too late, but this team can’t make the same mistake they made with Mack Hollins. This can’t turn into another bad Eagles contract at wide receiver (think Jeffery, Nelson Agholor, and DeSean Jackson). The best way to keep that from happening is by moving on.

JJ Arcega-Whiteside’s time with the Philadelphia Eagles may be and should be at its end. Truthfully, this should have been a story that we all were tossing around last year.
