54. . . . Michael Jacquet, cornerback. 5. player

Many Philadelphia Eagles fans have already had their fill of Michael Jacquet.

Seasons like the one Michael Jacquet had are why phrases like “roller-coaster ride” exist. After going undrafted during the selection meeting, Philly added him to a nice list of undrafted talent before waiving them during final roster cuts, placing him on the practice squad, and moving him back and forth from the practice squad to the active roster a couple of times.

Players rarely have two games that are as ‘night and day’ as what we saw from Jacquet in Week 15 and Week 16. Versus the Arizona Cardinals, he forced a fumble from DeAndre Hopkins and sacked Kyler Murray, but he was abused in Arlington versus the Dallas Cowboys. In his second game versus the Dallas Cowboys, he couldn’t have looked any less prepared.

Hopes were high as the Eagles stared across at the other sideline and saw Andy Dalton, but the man formerly known as The Red Rifle dissected the Eagles defense with ease. Jacquet was horrible as there were points where it appeared that all Dalton was doing was finding Jacquet and throwing at whoever he was covering on every play.

The former Louisiana Ragin’ Cajun is probably still having nightmares of that one. Birds fans sure are. Don’t be surprised with newly-drafted Zech McPhearson and guys like Kevon Seymour and Grayland Arnold make the roster while Jacquet is left off.
