Trading Fletcher Cox would shock Philadelphia Eagles fans but help the team.

We know this sounds crazy. Fletcher Cox has been a dominant force in the middle of the Philadelphia Eagles defensive line for most of his career, but the truth is Cox hasn’t been the same player over the course of the last few seasons.

The great news is this. He is still a player that most teams would spend a draft pick or two on to add him to their rosters. Now, in all honesty, this trade would hurt seeing that he’s been a leader for this team throughout his career.

Moving on from him means the team will need to look to find another veteran voice in the locker room, but this move would also save Philly a ton of cap space and draft capital they can get from its execution, so with all of this in mind, here’s an idea.

How’s this for daring? The Philadelphia Eagles send their future hall-of-fame defensive tackle to the Seattle Seahawks. In exchange, the pass-rush needy Hawks send the Eagles a 2022 third-round pick as well as a 2023 third-round pick. A deal like this means both teams make out well. The Seahawks get some much-needed help for the pass rush. The Eagles get two future third-round picks that can help in the current rebuild.
