Philadelphia Eagles 2021 Fantasy football outlook
By Matt Bryk
Is it wise to take the Philadelphia Eagles defense in Fantasy?
The Philadelphia Eagles’ defense has had some good and bad showings over the past few years. During the most recent offseason, they lost Malik Jackson, Jalen Mills, Vinny Curry, Cre’Von LeBlanc, Duke Riley, Cameron Johnston, and Rudy Ford. They added Ryan Kerrigan, Anthony Harris, Steven Nelson, Eric Wilson, Andrew Adams, Josiah Scott, and Obi Melifonwu.
The secondary looks pretty solid compared to past years. They finally added a legitimate companion piece for Darius Slay in Steven Nelson. They have great depth at safety with the mixture of Anthony Harris, Andrew Adams, K’von Wallace, and Obi Melifonwu.
Philly’s defensive line looks great, especially after drafting rookie Milton Williams. They have Jonathan Gannon now as their defensive coordinator. They have a fairly manageable schedule.
If you’re an Eagles homer and believe in this new defense, go ahead and draft them as your unit. If you’re not interested in the Eagles’ defense, look at the Browns, Dolphins, and the Colts. There is usually a diamond in the rough within defenses that aren’t in the top five.
Overall, the Eagles have a lot of potential for fantasy this year it all depends on targets, health, and production. An offensive combination of Hurts, Sanders, Smith, Reagor, and Goedert. Anything is possible. This offense can score a lot of points this year. Go into your draft knowing that the Eagles have great fantasy value.
