Young Philadelphia Eagles with much to gain if Zach Ertz is traded

Rumors of trades involving Philadelphia Eagles legend Zach Ertz haven’t stalled.

Just in case you’ve been living under a rock, here’s some news that you may have missed. The greatest tight end in the history of the Philadelphia Eagles, Zach Ertz, is still a member of this proud franchise. He has blonde hair and everything! No, but seriously, this should be seen as a good thing if you’re a Birds fan. Aren’t you tired of seeing guys who are true Eagles like Doug Pederson, Malcolm Jenkins, and Duce Staley leave and pretend like they didn’t do so on bad terms?

Seeing Ertz earn an opportunity to put the cherry on top of a bounceback season just seems like the right thing for this team to do, but that doesn’t mean the rumors of him being traded have ended. As a matter of fact, they haven’t.

Sure, you’d have to expect that there would be publications, this one included, that have tossed around trade scenarios and power rankings of possible destinations, but as of right now, Ertz is still in the midnight green. He looks happy too, but that didn’t stop ESPN’s Tim McManus from throwing out a possible trade idea involving Number 86. You need a subscription to read that one, but since we’re on the subject, what if he’s right? What if Ertz isn’t safe and we were days away from a trade?

We may not see it happen. Then again, we could, but even though we don’t know any specifics, one could assume that a few young Birds might have much to gain in his absence. Here are two that definitely fall in that category.
